Trifles

In "Trifle" by Susan Glaspell I realize that the women are very similar. They all seem to be housewives and enjoy it. Minnie on the other hand gives me the impression was trapped by everything because she was not happy while she was doing it. The two women believe Minnie must have been extremely bothered by something to committ such a crime. Mrs. Hale seems remorseful because she did not notice anything wrong with Minnie. I think Mrs. Hale is a round and dynamic character because she is looking for things to cheer up or occupy Minnie's mind. She also seems to be a little guilty for not having noticed what was going on between Minnie and her husband. Mrs. Peters seems to be a static dynamic character because her demenour does not change she is on the laws side and doesn't real switch. Minnie is a dynamic, round character because we learn that she was un happy with her life style and she did something drastic to change it.

  1. I think you meant to say that Mrs. Peters was a ROUND, STATIC character becuause you don't think she changes emotionally or mentally over the course of the play. Static and dynamic are opposite concepts, as are flat and round. so a character can't be both static and dynamic. Good work.
